Northern Region Basketball: Madison Girls Fall to Edison

Warhawks playoff run ends in a 63-33 loss to Edison High School.

The Madison High School girls basketball run into the AAA Northern Region Playoffs ended Tuesday night in a 63-33 loss to Edison High School.

It marks the end of a season in which the Warhawks captured their fifth Liberty District championship in six years.

The first quarter of Tuesday's game was a close contest, ending with Edison up 9-5.

Edison outscored Madison by just a single basket in the second quarter, leading at the half 22-15.

It was after halftime that Edison took off, roaring on offense through the fourth quarter, where the game was largely made as the Eagles netted nearly three times as many points as the Warhawks, outscoring them 28-10.

Senior Megan Leduc led the Warhawks with 13 points and Senior Megan Henshaw — making a last return to the court after being out this season with an ACL injury — added 9.

Edison had four scorers in double digits, including sophomore guard Lindsey Krisak, who had five 3-pointers enroute to a 17-point finish.
