Vienna Golfer Wins 2013 MAPGA Spring Fling Championship

Jack Peden of Vienna took home the boys (16-18) championship with a two-day total of 150 (75-75) at the MAPGA's 11th Annual MAPGA Spring Fling, which was held Thursday and Friday at the Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton.

More than 100 of the mid-Atlantic region's top teen golfers played in the tournament. 

David Rabil of Fairfax Station won the Boys 14-15 division with a 155 (80-75). Graham Hutchinson of Bethesda, won the boys 13 and under division with a 151 (77-74).

A hole-in-one was made by Garrett Larson of Gainesville, Va on Hole #14 which was a 212 yard par 3. That was Larson’s first hole in one and he made it with a 4-iron.  

Julie Luo of Centreville, won the overall girls championship with a two-day total of 144 (74-70)

The course at Laurel Hill is considered one of the top in the nation, and will also host the United States Golf Association's 2013 United States Amateur Public Links Championship in July.
