Virginia Hockey Results: Madison Celebrates Seniors

Six Warhawk players honored in Friday night loss to Osborn Park.

Six seniors were celebrated Friday for their athletic and academic achievements over the past four years on the Madison Warhawks Ice Hockey team.

Justin Leas, Aaron Shiohama, Jeremy Park, Alex Barrett, Garret Dressler and Jacob Park are soon graduating and finishing up their active tenure as Warhawks and join the growing list of Warhawk Ice Hockey Alumnus.

But the Warhawks hit a bump in the road later that evening as they lost 4-2 to Osborn Park.  While the Warhawks dominated play at times they could not consistently get shots to the net as a strong defense by Osborn Park kept them at bay.

For the Warkhawks, senior Justin Leas and junior Zach Shiohama each recorded a tally with other assists by Aaron Shiohama and Ben Headley.  Back-up goalie Garret Dressler, filling in for Andrew Herrmann, played strong and kept the Warhawks in the game all night, making many great saves, as he turned back 26 of 30 shots.

The 5-3-1 Warhawks, who are already qualified for the NVSHL playoffs, face Yorktown, a team they cannot afford to take lightly, at The Kettler Iceplex in Arlington at 6:40 pm. Friday.
