Slurpee fans can get their brain freezes and sugar highs for free today.
Participating stores in the chain, including those in Vienna, are giving away free 7.11-ounce cups of the popular frozen drink from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for "SlurpFree Day" to celebrate the beginning of summer, the official Slurpee season, 7-Eleven officials in Dallas said Tuesday.
Each year, 7-Eleven celebrates its birthday, July 11, with free Slurpees for customers. SlurpFree Day comes in the same month the company debuted the Slurpee Lite Fanta Sugar-Free Mango drink, its first of several sugar-free and regular flavors for this summer, according to a news release from the company.
The 8-ounce Slurpee Lite contains 20 calories, compared with the 66 calories in a Slurpee Fanta Wild Cherry of the same size, according to 7-Eleven. Here's a Slurpee-flavor debut time line for all the fans out there:
