Fireworks, music planned for annual town celebrations

You don't have to travel to see a good fireworks show this Fourth of July.

The Town of Vienna's Fourth of July celebrations kick off on Wednesday morning at the Vienna Community Center.

Here's a guide to music, arts, crafts, and of course, the main fireworks event.

In the event of inclement weather, a rain date for fireworks only is scheduled for Thursday July 5.

Vienna Community Center

11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Arts and Crafts, Food, Chili Cookoff, Rides, Antique and Classic Car Show

2 p.m.: Family Games

MAIN STAGE

12:15 p.m.: Ron Moody and the Centaurs play the oldies

CHILDREN’S STAGE
1 p.m.: Louis the Magician takes the Children's Stage

Yeonas Park

5 p.m.: Seating begins

7 p.m.: Fireworks Pre-show by Fat Chance

9:15 p.m. Fireworks, sponsored by Air Treatment Company. Seating is available at Yeonas Park, with little seating available at Southside; Little League concessions will be open.

PARKING, ROAD CLOSINGS

Handicapped Parking: Near Patrick and Cottage Streets 

5 p.m.: Spectator seating begins at 5 p.m. at Yeonas Park, the Yeonas Park parking lot and two designated areas off of Ross Drive. No dogs, alcohol or glass bottles permitted.

7:30 p.m.: The following streets will close: Patrick Street, Patrick Circle, Ross Drive from Cottage Street to George Street, and George Street from Cottage Street to Ross Drive.

Parking is available at Cedar Lane School and Thoreau Middle School.
