Blog Post: Ireland Comes To Vienna

if you're tired of celebrating St Patrick's Day by drinking green beer & saying "Kiss Me I'm Irish," we've got just the thing for you this Saturday.

Most of the time, we at The Belt Team blog about the real estate market in Vienna (and Oakton), but we also enjoy writing a lifestyle blog about "Life In Vienna" called TheresNoPlaceLikeVienna.com.

Almost our entire team either lives in or has lived in Vienna for many, many years. Our hearts, homes, families & friends are here. And we LOVE living in Vienna. We love the people, the culture, the history, the shops, the recreation options and well, we just LOVE Vienna.

One (of many) reasons is that you don't have to drive into DC or into Arlington to have incredible opportunities for fun. Here's one example:

St Patrick's Day is almost upon us. And if you're tired of celebrating the occasion by wearing your "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" t-shirt and drinking green beer, and you're looking for something a little more unique  (OR you're looking for some fun in the afternoon before you go out to drink green beer at night!), we've got just the thing for you!

The Vienna Choral Society is hosting a Celtic Arts Festival. It will take place at Vienna Elementary School on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Celtic Arts Festival will be an afternoon of Celtic music, dance, culture & food. All kinds of fabulous groups will be performing - including Tinsmith, Rich Follett, The Irish Breakfast Band, Katherine Hughes, and several other artists.

Here's a sampling of what you might hear:

Rich Follet: Somewhere in the Stars

Tinmsith: Bolts & Locks

Vienna's very own Pure Pasty will be there too. If you've never tasted a pasty (and that's PASSty - not PASTEy or PAYsty!) - you don't want to miss the opportunity. YUM!

And - perhaps even more exciting is that the Vienna Elementary School Jammers will be making an appearance. You might remember them. They made quite the splash at last year's Viva Vienna with
