History: The Shepherd's Center of Oakton-Vienna is a local chapter of the national Shepherd's Centers of America. The local organization was founded 14 years ago after the former minister of Oakton United Methodist, John Tate, saw a need in the community to serve seniors. It is a faith-based, cross-denominational group that is supported by local churches.

How you can help: The Shepherd's Center is entirely supported by volunteers. It is especially in need of drivers who can transport seniors to medical appointments and do other errands. Contact the office if you're interested in donating your time.
