Vienna at Your Service, Remembering 9/11, and 'The Rite of Spring'

Here's what you need to know in Vienna the week of Sept. 8.

Monday, Sept. 9

The Vienna Town Council will meet at 8 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Town Hall.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

If you want to learn more about the Town of Vienna and its different departments, be sure to check out the Vienna at Your Service program at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. This program is a great opportunity to visit with local clubs and service organizations and learn more about all they offer in Vienna.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

The Town of Vienna will host a 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony in remembrance of all those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The event is sponsored by American Legion Post 180 and is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. on the grounds of the historic Freeman House, 131 Church Street NE.  

Thursday, Sept. 12

Fall is approaching but it’s never to late to enjoy “The Rite of Spring.” Enjoy a filmed performance of the Ballets Russes at the National Gallery of Art, 4th and Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC. 202-737-4215. The film shows at 12:30 p.m. Free!

Friday, Sept. 13

Brides Against Breast Cancer is a national nonprofit that tours the country selling donated wedding gowns with the proceeds going toward programs and services for people who are impacted by cancer.  The "Nationwide Tour of Gowns" will make a tour stop in Washington, DC Sept. 13-14 at the Dupont Circle Hotel, 1500 New Hampshire Ave. http://www.bridesagainstbreastcancer.org/upcoming-shows-2013/washington-dc-bridal-show-september-2013/
