Ready for the weekend? Lots of spooky fun as Halloween gets closer. The Vienna Family Halloween Party takes place Saturday, a costume contest Saturday at Jammin' Java and toe-tappin' music is playing at the Barns of Wolf Trap in Vienna.

Vienna Family Halloween Party

Stop by the Vienna Community Center for a hauntingly good time at the annual Family Halloween Party. There will be carnival games, crafts, door prizes and plenty of fun for all. The party will be in the Community Center gymnasium. Carnival prizes appropriate for ages 4 through 12. Make sure to wear your costume! Sponsored by the Optimist Club of Vienna and the Vienna Parks and Recreation Department. No registration is required.

Barns Bursting. Busy weekend at Wolf Trap with folk, country and bluegrass concerts. Sam Bush, the “king of Newgrass,” kicks off the weekend’s events Thursday. Memphis-born Jesse Winchester performs Friday. And folk duo Magpie presents a 40th Anniversary show on Saturday. Costs and times vary. The Barns at Wolf Trap, 1635 Trap Road, Vienna.

Old School Halloween Party. Busy weekend at Jammin’ Java with a lot of shows planned, but we’ll keep with the Halloween theme and highlight the “All Souls Day” Old School Halloween Party presented by SNRG. There will be a costume contest for best old school costumes. From $10. 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Jammin Java, 227 Maple Avenue E., Vienna. See the complete Jammin’ Java schedule.

The Legwarmers, a 1980s tribute band, performs both Friday and Saturday nights at The State Theatre in Falls Church. The band will take the stage both nights at 9:30 p.m., doors will open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18. Cash prizes will be given out for best Halloween costumes ('80s or otherwise).

Boneyard Hunt. Bring out your costumed pup for a special event for dogs. Lake Accotink Park will host a Howloween Dog Costume Contest and Boneyard Hunt. Special prizes and treats will be available. All dogs must be leashed and friendly. $6 per dog. 2-4 p.m. Saturday. Lake Accotink Park, 7500 Lake Accotink Park Road, Springfield.

Get Ready to Get Scared! Bradley Farms Haunted House is back! This haunted house regularly attracts thousands of visitors, and all proceeds benefit Herndon-Reston FISH which provides emergency assistance to families in need. Friday night and Saturday night from 6-10 p.m., get ready for no-holds-barred scary; on Saturday, there's a tamed-down version for the younger kids from 1-5 p.m. Plus, in the parking lot, there's booths with games (Herndon Patch on Saturday from 1-4 p.m.!), concessions and live musical acts. Bradley Farm, 13159 New Parkland Dr., Herndon.

Scream … Surprise! Some of Disney’s most popular characters hit the ice at the Patriot Center all weekend for Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate. There will be performances of holiday themes, including a Halloween Haunt by the Disney villains, along with a birthday party with the Mad Hatter and more. From $20. Times vary. Thru Sunday. Patriot Center, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax.

Boo! More Parks! Fairfax County Parks Authority has several other Halloween events this weekend. Pumpkin Patch at Nature Playce, Halloween Fest at Green Spring Gardens, Historic All Hallows Eve at Sully Historic SIte, Halloween Goblin Golf at Lake Accotink, the Ghost Train at Burke Lake and more. Costs, times and locations vary.

Fall Orchestra Concert at West Potomac in Fort Hunt. The annual fall orchestra concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at West Potomac High School. The show is free and open to the public.

"Chakaween." Fitness class Chakaboom will have its event at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Franconia Fire Station located at 6300 Beulah St. Dress up in your favorite costume and get in a good work out at the same time. Friends and family are invited to this event. The cost is $10 per person. The best costume will win a prize. (Check out the video of last year's event above.)

Fall Festival. Aldersgate United Methodist Church will have a fall festival from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The event will include face painting, food trucks, balloon twisting and live music from The U.S. Army Voices and Close2Home. Aldersgate is located at 1301 Collingwood Rd. in Alexandria.

Back So Soon? Yes. Summer camp returns as an extra Halloween treat. The Workhouse Arts Center hosts a Halloween Mini Camp this weekend, with costume and cooking lessons, and more. For ages 6-10. $145. Register. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Workhouse Arts Center, 9601 Ox Road, Lorton.
