The brainchild of Francis and Kenton Kilmer, children of famous artists, Green Hedges began in 1942 as a 10-student class taught in a private home. Today the school provides nearly 200 children with a classic education, focusing on core academics, language, the arts and physical education.
The school is divided into three programs: Montessori, or the Early Childhood Program, for ages 3 to 5; the Lower School, for grades 1 to 5; and Middle School, for grades 6 to 8.
