Wolftrap Elementary School is a neighborhood school with "tremendous communty support," says principal Anita Blain. The school has a recycling program and an active PTA in addition to a full range of academic programs, including Chinese language lessons for children in grades one through six. Home and school life are closely connected, with parents often volunteering in the classroom, and the school welcoming families to several events during the school year, including a thanksgiving lunch. The school also partners with the community for annual events such as the Walk for the Homeless in October, and a 5k fun run in April.
