Road Work On Hunter Mill Continues Today
Delays will cause alternating closures after 9 a.m.
Drivers traveling on Hunter Mill Road between Cedar Pond Drive and Silk Oak Drive can expect delays and alternating lane closures Wednesday as Fairfax County crews repair a broken pipe on the new bridge over Difficult Run. Steve Walls, a distribution superintendent with the county's department of transportation, wrote in an email that the broken pipe wasn't having an impact on the bridge itself, but the repair would require taking down a guard rail. Most of the work was completed Tuesday before 4 p.m., he said; crews are returning Wednesday after 9 a.m. to clean up and restore the site. Didn't even realize the name of the creek it crosses. Is the name posted? Over it at least bi-weekly if not more often. Turned back once because of flooding. I think flooding should also be addressed when permanet bridge is constructed. more ›
