Vienna Police Seek Information in Hit and Run

Driver who allegedly struck pedestrian on Desale Street did not stop to exchange information.

Vienna Police are looking for a driver who allegedly hit a pedestrian walking along Desale Street last week, but did not stop to check on the man's well-being or exchange information. Police say around 6:05 p.m. Jan. 9, a man was walking north on Desale Street. While he was crossing the intersection with Ross Drive, a car also traveling northbound on the street began to turn left onto Ross Drive; the driver "slammed on his brakes but was unable to avoid the pedestrian," police wrote in a report. After the pedestrian was struck, the driver fled. The pedestrian complained of minor pain in his right leg, police say. The pedestrian told police the car was a silver sedan, driven by a white man with brown hair who appeared to be in his 50s. …

Man Charged in Hit-and-Run

No injuries in accident in Southwest Vienna

Vienna Police charged a Vienna man with driving while intoxicated, refusal of a breath test and hit-and-run after he allegedy struck a parked vehicle on Patrick Street and fled. Owen Edward Hsia, 35, of Vienna, was arrested and charged with the three offenses near the scene. Police responded around 9:27 p.m. Aug. 30  for a report of a hit-and-run on Patrick Street near Cottage Street SW. Upon arrival, police talked to a witness, who said the driver had gone in the direction of the 100 block of Casmar Street SW. Police found the striking vehicle and the driver, Hsia, who officers suspected was impaired.  Hsia failed to complete several sobriety tests, police said, and was arrested. Police Investigate Hit and Run on Nutley

Female victim recovering after alleged assault, police say

Police are searching for a driver who allegedly hit a woman with a car and fled, leaving her unconscious at the scene. The driver is someone known to the woman, police said. Around 11:48 p.m. April 13, police responded for a reported assault near the Elks Lodge at 250 Nutley Street NW. Police found an unconscious 32-year-old woman who had been hit by a vehicle. Fairfax County EMS responded to treat the woman and take her to a local hospital. She is expected to fully recover. This case is still being investigated.

Man Charged With DWI, Hit-And-Run In Tuesday Night Crash

Helicopters, K-9 units responded to apprehend driver

The driver of a car that hit a stopped vehicle on Chain Bridge Road late Tuesday night was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and hit-and-run. William J. James, 42, of Sterling, was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center last night and released this morning on personal recognizance, a representative from the detention center said. An arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Fairfax County Police Department spokesman Don Gotthardt said at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, a 2005 Jeep Liberty was stopped in the right lane of Route 123 Southbound at Oak Valley Drive when a 2010 BMW, allegedly driven by James, hit it from behind. Police Seek Witnesses In Hit And Run

Car with Maryland plates hit youth rider Sept. 29 and drove away, police say

Vienna Police are looking for a female driver who allegedly hit a youth bicyclist on Maple Avenue and then fled. Police said Wednesday a white Honda Civic with Maryland license plates struck a juvenile bicyclist around 3:45 p.m. Sept. 29 at the intersection of Maple Avenue SE and the Washington and Old Dominion Trail. The crash left the bicyclist with only minor injuries, police said. The only description police have of the driver is she was a Hispanic woman.
