Metro will not perform scheduled weekend track work during the Cherry Blossom festival.
There will be no scheduled weekend track work on the metro for Easter weekend, a courtesy to visitors attending the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. From March 23 through April 14, Metro is halting weekend track work activities with the exception of work taking place after 10 p.m. on Sundays, when ridership is light. Four Orange Line stations will be closed Feb. 22 to 24; shuttle buses will take riders between Vienna and East Falls Church.
Taking the Metro to get around this weekend? If you're trying to take the rail from Vienna, it's going to be more difficult than usual. Metro is planning to shut down four Orange Line stations — Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church and East Falls Church — as it integrates signals with the upcoming Silver Line.
