Crews close parts of Lawyers Road through noon; portions of Park Street closed from noon to 3 p.m.
Vienna crews will shut down parts of two busy roads Wednesday to complete tree work. Until noon Wednesday, the southbound lane of Lawyers Road from Windover Avenue to West Street will be closed, according to a town alert. Detours are in place, but drivers should avoid the area if possible. From noon to 3 p.m. the northbound lane of Park Street SE near Adahi Road will be closed. Driver was distracted, causing chain reaction Saturday near Moore Avenue.
A woman who said she took her eyes off the road to look at her speedometer Saturday looked back up to find her car rear ending another, causing a three-car crash Saturday at Park Street near Moore Avenue SE. Vienna Police Department spokesman Gary Lose said three vehicles were traveling south on Park Street. Two of them stopped, though, for heavy traffic ahead. "The driver of the third vehicle stated she took her eyes off the road to look at her speedometer and did not notice the vehicle in front of her had stopped," Lose wrote in an email to Patch.
