Throughout the end of June and early July you went on and on (and on and on ...) about your picks for the best food, services and providers. We asked for it and you delivered, stepping up to make sure your picks for the best of the best make into the voting round of our 2012 Best of Patch Readers' Choice competition. Thank you for all your nominations and attentiveness so far ... but stick with it. You still have to vote your picks into the No. 1 spot and the right to be called the Patch Readers' Choice. On Monday, July 23, we'll open voting in a variety of categories. From Monday until Aug. 17, you can log in and vote for your picks. Restaurant wins this week's reader poll
Congratulations to Maple Avenue Restaurant, which was named Best Place for Mother's Day Brunch in this week's reader poll. The restaurant, which went up against five other restaurants, earned 63 percent of the vote. The runner up was Maplewood Grill, with 13 percent of the vote. Maple Avenue Restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, co-owner Joey Hernandez says. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the restaurant will serve a lunch/brunch menu, which includes a la carte lunch and brunch plates as well as a six-course tasting menu for two, bottomless poinsettias, bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary's. Hernandez said the restaurant is still deciding on special desserts, "but most likely will have our red velvet cake crumble," she said. …

Church Street shop selected for best ice cream this week
Congratulations to Nielsen's Frozen Custard, which was chosen as having the best ice cream in Vienna in our Readers' Choice poll. The shop finished with 32 percent of the vote. It earned nearly twice as many votes as the next highest vote getter, Plush Gelato. Among the other choices were Baskin Robbins, Coldstone Creamery, Dairy Queen, Molly's Yogurt and Red Mango. Bar wins best place to watch the game in our readers poll
Congratulations to the Vienna Inn, which was chosen as the "best place to watch the game" in our Readers' Choice poll. The bar edged out a handful of other restaurants in the Vienna-Oakton area, including Outback Steakhouse, Famous Dave's and Tequila Grande. It beat the second-place choice, Santini's in Oakton, by seven votes. The Vienna Inn, which has been on Maple Avenue since 1960, is often a resident favorite for both its history and its family-friendly environment. "The Vienna Inn's unrefined charm has made it a steadfast landmark that may grow older, but has not aged a day," the restaurant says on its website. For complete final results, click here.
