This week we ask: Where's the best place to celebrate with Mom?
Mother's Day is May 13. We're sure you've started asking yourself, what do you do for the woman who gave you everything? For starters, let her sleep in. Then, surprise her with flowers. (You are getting her flowers, aren't you?) Next, you're off to brunch. But where should you take her? This week brings a special Readers' Choice contest in which we're asking you to tell us the best place for Mother's Day brunch. In this series, we'll ask you to vote for the "best" of some of your favorite places around town. This week: Where is the best place to see live music?
Who has the best cup of coffee? Who is the best grocer? Where's the best place for family fun? Vienna Patch is asking readers to share their favorite people, places and businesses in Vienna in a series called "Readers Choice." Here's how it will work: On Monday, we'll publish a poll and list choices for you to vote on. You'll also be able to "write in" a nomination in the comments box. You'll be able to vote until Friday at 9 a.m. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below. We will announce the winner at noon Friday. Church Street shop selected for best ice cream this week
Congratulations to Nielsen's Frozen Custard, which was chosen as having the best ice cream in Vienna in our Readers' Choice poll. The shop finished with 32 percent of the vote. It earned nearly twice as many votes as the next highest vote getter, Plush Gelato. Among the other choices were Baskin Robbins, Coldstone Creamery, Dairy Queen, Molly's Yogurt and Red Mango.
