NFL Playoffs: Where to Watch, TV Schedule, Lines

The Washington Redskins face the Seattle Seahawks this weekend in one of four NFL wildcard games.

The Washington Redskins have spent since 2007 traveling the road back to the NFL playoffs -- but it's been a heck of a ride. Next stop: Sunday's wildcard game against the Seattle Seahawks. All this hailing to the Redskins should seem familiar. In 2007, the Redskins also made the 2007 NFL playoffs as a wildcard team. And, just like this year, that 2007 playoff game was against the Seattle Seahawks. Let's hope the similarities end there, because the Seahawks won the last time around. That game, though was in Seattle. Sunday, the Redskins are at home for the first time in the NFL playoffs since they beat the Detroit Lions in 1999. Find more Redskins playoff history here. Their strong start seems to be a good omen for my own rookie year.

Man, what an exciting sports weekend in this area! Football kicked off in a huge way with the 'Skins showing what they're bringing to the table this season — and that's a big, heaping plate of RGIII. Between Griffin and a Redskins defense that brought Saints quarterback Brees to his knees, the team took it anything but easy on the Big Easy and gave weary Washington fans a reason to feel hopeful for the first time in ages. Or so I hear, anyway. I did not watch one minute of the game because, as I've mentioned before, I'm not much of a sports fan. This is unfortunate, because it leaves me with a lot less to talk about with my friends and relatives — many of whom are completely rabid sports fans. My sister-in-law is the very definition of a …
