Taking the Metro to get around this weekend? Here’s what to expect. Hopefully you took advantage of the slight repreive last weekend, because there will be track work on every line this weekend, according to Metro's website: Red Line Red Line trains will single track between NoMa-Gallaudet U and Fort Totten stations to allow for platform reconstruction, tie and fastener renewal and DDOT bridge work. Throughout the weekend, Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont. Between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, additional trains will operate between Shady Grove and NoMa-Gallaudet U stations, resulting in service about every 10 minutes between those stations. I rode the Metro on Saturday from Union Station to Vienna. This is a distance of about 18 miles. The trip took 2 hours. This is not an isolated incident, but a regular occrence. These people do not know how to run a railroad. They perform like they have never run a railroad.
