They were concerned for the welfare of the Cocker Spaniel, so Animal Control officers responded. Fairfax County Police logged the following incidents in the Vienna area during the week ending Aug. 22: Animal Control Division — Countywide Rabies Vector: 5500 block of Willow Valley Road, 8/16/12, 8:30 a.m. Animal Control officers were called following a fight between a dog and a skunk. The German Shorthaird Pointer is kept outside and killed the skunk. The skunk will be tested for rabies. The dog received a booster shot and not injured. Twelve Vienna residents were arrested by Fairfax County police through July 25. The names are taken from the list Fairfax County Police Department publishes each Thursday of those arrested in Fairfax County. In addition to the names below, Fairfax County Police logged the following incidents in the Vienna area: ASSAULT, 9500 block of Virginia Center Boulevard at 3:40 a.m. July 22. "An officer observed a man push through the turnstile at the station without paying the fare. He approached the individual who pushed past the officer and fled. Kevin Hinder, 23, of Maryland, was captured and charged with assault on law enforcement officer, failure to pay fare, and drunk in public."

Fifteen Vienna residents were arrested by Fairfax County police through July 12. The names are taken from the list Fairfax County Police Department publishes each Thursday of those arrested in Fairfax County. In addition to the names below, Fairfax County Police logged the following incidents in the Vienna area: ROBBERY, 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 10 a.m. 7/6/12. An employee reported three suspects entered the store, implied they had weapons and ordered the employee to the back of the store. They stole three pairs of shoes and fled.
