Vienna Native Natalie York Funding New Album on Kickstarter

Kickstarter selects singer-songwriter's project as "Staff Picks."

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Natalie York returned Friday to her former middle school, Kilmer Middle School in Vienna, to teach Barbara Appling’s creative writing students about songwriting. York was also in town to perform at Jammin' Java.

York has a new album in the works and is funding its release through the crowd-funding platform, Kickstarter, which has selected York’s project as one of its “Staff Picks.”

As Kickstarter explains, “Staff Picks collects projects we like, and think you will too. They’re creative, inspiring, and fun.”
